AlphaBright contains a Quartz Tungsten Halogen (QTH) light bulb. A QTH light source contains a tungsten filament in a halogen gas surrounded by a quartz envelope. This is a common type of bulb used in lighting and other applications as it has a wide spectral range.

* The optical characteristics of the QTH bulb change over time as the filament wears. We recommend changing the bulb after ~500 hours of operation for spectroscopy applications
